II. I am not sure I will like the numbers it shows me.Sometimes it is like going to the doctor knowing you could get bad news. Seeking a diagnosis, or an opinion, is the first (and most important) step toward the prescription and the plan for recovery. You go anyway to get the prescription, not just the diagnosis. Last time we subscribed, we were disappointed with the size of the universe and we didn’t have a peer comparison.In our interviews with current and former subscribers this was one of the common comments we heard. To address this we have aggressively sought partnerships with state associations and other peer group comparables. We are committed to improving the value you will receive as we are increasing significantly the size of the universe and every subscriber will get at least one peer comparison.
V. We subscribed a couple of years ago and still have the data. Why do we need to subscribe again so soon?Our business climate changes enough every year that you will find new data, comparisons, and insights this year and every year you subscribe. Our enhancements in data collection, analysis, and presentation will give you more detailed reports that will be more user friendly as well.
VI. It’s a lot of work to enter all that data and we have a lot going on right now.Our secure, web-based, data entry site will streamline the data entry process, but will not be able to address the underlying need to gather the key data from your accounting system provider. In future years we hope (with the help of accounting system vendors) to provide even more ease of entry.
VII. I won’t use the information it gives me.Ok, you got me there. If you aren’t going to use the data to assess your performance and plan for improvement, it would indeed be a waste of money.
